Recruitment case study

How we recruit and place tech talent

Since 2021 we have recruited and placed tested tech and digital staff for employers across Nigeria and beyond. We are a technology firm, so the people who do the job run the vetting. Here is the work behind that, told by outcome, with clients described by type.

At a glance

A CV tells you what someone says they can do. We check whether they can do it. People who do the job set each candidate a practical task from the real role, then question them on how they solved it. Each search draws far more applicants than the few we place, so you spend your interview time only on people who have already shown the work.

Most recruiters screen CVs. We test skills, then place the people who pass, and stand behind the hire.

How a search runs

Every candidate goes through scored screening, a practical test, a technical interview led by our own specialists, with outside assessors for senior roles, and final checks on salary, notice and availability. You see a short, scored report for every shortlisted candidate: strengths, risks, salary expectation and notice period. You get a progress update every week until the role is filled.

Staffing a money-transfer app

We are the repeat recruitment partner for an international money-transfer app, staffing its community, content, design and growth roles since 2023. Its leaders join the final interviews, and the people we place sit on our payroll, so the client gets the team without carrying the employment overhead itself.

IT engineers placed on site

We recruit IT engineers and place them on site with clients, then keep managing them. The client gets a vetted engineer matched to their environment, with our oversight behind them, rather than a lone hire left to sink or swim.

A developer for a social enterprise

For a social enterprise hiring a developer, we screened the applicants, ran a technical interview and live-coding exercises drawn from the real work, and placed a tested developer who could ship from the first week.

An IT manager for a marketing agency

We ran a two-stage assessment for a marketing agency’s in-house IT manager, scoring candidates on real scenarios across security, infrastructure, cloud email and vendor management, and placed the hire who took over its day-to-day IT. See the full story in the agency’s case study.

What you get

  • Three to five tested candidates per role, usually within three to five weeks.
  • A scored report on every shortlisted candidate, not a pile of CVs.
  • Replacement cover: if the hire leaves within three months, we run one more search at no extra fee.
  • An optional payroll arrangement, where we employ the people we place and handle PAYE, pension, NHF and NSITF.
