At a glance

Alphabet Media Academy had the courses, the faculty and the reputation. What it did not have was a way to enroll students without doing it by hand. Its site ran on WordPress and LearnDash, fine for hosting lessons, but the journey from “I’m interested” to “I’m in class” was broken into disconnected pieces.

Inventrium rebuilt the academy’s front door as a fast, modern web app bolted onto the existing course platform, so nothing about their teaching had to change — a complete, self-service enrollment engine where a prospective student can discover a program, apply, pay, get admitted and walk straight into their classroom on their own.

The challenge

The academy was growing in spite of its website, not because of it. The funnel leaked at every step:

  • Prospective students browsed courses on a stiff, theme-locked site that did not match the academy’s ambition.
  • Applying meant emails and back-and-forth, with staff tracking applicants by hand.
  • The academy charges two separate fees — an application fee and a tuition fee — and every payment had to be chased, confirmed and matched to a student manually.
  • Even after paying, students were not automatically granted access to their course.

Every new student created hours of administrative work, and the brand looked dated.

What we built

A website that finally matches the brand

A fast, polished, mobile-first site built in React — marketing pages, faculty showcases, a course catalog, and conversion-focused program pages for the flagship Media Management diploma and certificate. Pages load instantly, because content is cached and served the moment a visitor arrives while fresh data quietly updates in the background.

Apply online in minutes

A guided, multi-step application captures everything the academy needs — personal details, contacts, history and document uploads — and drops a clean, structured record straight into the admissions desk. No more chasing email attachments.

An admissions desk that runs itself

Behind the scenes, staff get a real back office: every application organized and reviewable, a one-click admit workflow that fires off branded acceptance emails automatically, and a one-click export for reporting. The manual tracking spreadsheet is gone.

Get paid, automatically and safely

Students pay both the application fee and tuition online through Flutterwave (card, bank transfer or USSD). The important part: every payment is verified by our server before access is granted, and the amount is double-checked to prevent tampering. The instant a payment clears, the student is automatically enrolled in the right course and the academy is notified — no reconciliation, no manual enrollment, no “I paid but I can’t see my course” support tickets.

One seamless journey

A student moves from the new website into their actual classroom without logging in twice. The experience feels like one product, even though a trusted learning platform is doing the teaching underneath.

Under the hood

  • Frontend: React 19, React Router, Tailwind CSS and Vite — a 21-page single-page app deployed on Vercel.
  • Backend: WordPress + LearnDash kept as the system of record, extended with a custom REST API for applications, payments and student data.
  • Smart caching: a stale-while-revalidate layer plus server-side caching makes a decoupled architecture feel instant, and keeps the site standing even if the backend is briefly slow.
  • Secure payments: Flutterwave with server-side transaction verification and amount validation — the browser is never trusted to confirm a payment.
  • Seamless sign-in: a secure token bridge carries a student’s session from the web app into the learning platform, so there is no second login.
  • Two-fee logic: application and tuition fees are handled distinctly, each tied to the correct program and triggering the right enrollment on success.

  • Students enroll themselves — discover, apply, pay, get admitted and land in class, with zero staff hand-holding at each step.
  • Payments collect, verify and enroll automatically — no chasing transactions, no manual course access, no payment-related support tickets.
  • The admissions team gets their time back — structured applications, one-click admissions, automated emails, instant exports.
  • A brand that finally looks the part — fast, modern, and fully under the academy’s control instead of locked to an off-the-shelf theme.
  • Nothing was thrown away — the academy kept its proven course platform, faculty content and grading. We rebuilt the front door, not the house.
