Six years hosting, securing and updating a large manufacturer’s websites

Since 2020 we have hosted, secured and updated a large manufacturer’s two websites, working through its marketing agency. We work through each security test its group runs, with the auditors, and keep the sites current and online.

The situation

A large manufacturer needed two websites built quickly and then kept current, secure and online for years.

Its group’s security team tests the sites regularly. The agency needed a technical team that could answer each test, keep both sites current and turn requests round quickly.

What we did

Run

Hosting, domains and security tests

A big company’s own security team checks its websites. Each finding needs a clear answer and a fix, or the site can be taken down.

  • Worked with the group’s auditors and testers through 11 security-test cycles between 2021 and 2026. Each time we fixed what the report found and sent back the action taken on every item.
  • Received written sign-off from the group’s IT audit in May 2024 that the issues on both sites were addressed.
  • Recommended a dedicated cloud server, then moved both sites onto it in November 2023.
  • Register and renew the client’s domains.
  • Checked a fake look-alike support address within two hours and told the team what to do.

Grow

Content, analytics and outreach

A site with last year’s news looks abandoned. A site without working analytics cannot show what the marketing achieved.

  • Publish the agency’s news and launch posts on both sites, usually the same or next day: 70 posts in 2025.
  • Set up Google Analytics in 2020 and moved both sites to the current version within three days in 2023.
  • Set up email campaigns, a mailbox and bulk text messages for one of the client’s programmes in 2026, and trained the agency on the new tools.

Results

  • 11 security-test cycles closed with the group’s auditors, and written sign-off from its IT audit in May 2024.
  • Both sites moved to a dedicated cloud server in November 2023, with no outage reported.
  • 70 posts published across the two sites in 2025.
