At a glance
SLEC Africa advises on governance, compliance and market entry for Africa’s sports betting, lottery, eGaming and casino sector, and runs the training programmes that build capacity across it. The brief was as much about tone as it was about pages: the site had to read like a credible consulting firm — closer to Simon-Kucher or FTI Consulting than to anything gaming-adjacent — while still handling the full operational load of a content-heavy advisory business.
Inventrium designed and built slecafrica.com— a Next.js platform on a Sanity CMS backbone, covering advisory services, training, events and industry intelligence, with the client’s positioning engineered into the codebase itself rather than left to drift page by page.
The brief wasn’t just a website — it was a positioning statement that had to survive every future edit. We built the brand’s discipline into the code, not just the copy.
The challenge
An advisory firm in a regulated, often-misunderstood industry has to work harder than most to be taken seriously:
- The site had to project the tone of a premium consulting firm, not a vendor to the gaming industry it advises.
- Content operations were genuinely broad — training courses, multi-speaker webinars, categorised research and analysis, careers listings — and all of it needed to be editable without a developer.
- As a firm whose credibility depends on trust, the underlying platform needed to be demonstrably secure, fast and clean, not just look the part.
What we did
Positioning, built into the code
Brand colours, typography and tone rules were locked into the design system as explicit constraints, not just applied once at launch — so the “advisory firm, not a gaming-industry vendor” read holds across every page a future editor touches.
A content platform, not a brochure
Training programmes, webinars and events (with support for multiple speakers per session and embedded recordings), categorised insights and analysis, and careers listings are all modelled in Sanity and fully client-editable — the team runs its content operation without waiting on a developer for routine updates.
Analytics that respects the visitor
Google Analytics only activates after consent, and was designed and hardened against the site’s Content-Security-Policy from the start — a considered approach to compliance rather than a tracking snippet bolted on after the fact.
A platform audited, not just assumed, to be clean
Before launch, the site went through a dedicated security and SEO audit — metadata, canonical tags, one H1 per page, structured data, security headers, robots and sitemap handling — passing all 15 sitemap pages with zero failures and zero warnings. Production ships with a full security header suite (CSP, HSTS, frame protection, MIME-sniffing prevention) and a published security.txt.
Under the hood
- Positioning, encoded: brand tokens and tone rules were locked into the codebase itself, so the "advisory firm, not a gaming vendor" positioning survives every future edit.
- Multi-speaker events: webinars and events support several speakers per session, with YouTube recording embeds and separate upcoming/past views.
- A living content system: training courses, categorised insights and analysis, and careers listings are all Sanity-driven, with a signed webhook keeping the site in sync the moment content changes.
- Privacy-conscious analytics: Google Analytics only loads after consent, designed and hardened for the site's Content-Security-Policy from the outset rather than patched in later.
- A clean bill of health: a dedicated post-launch audit covering metadata, canonical tags, structured data, and security headers, passed with zero findings.
The results
- A brand that reads as a premium advisory firm — not a gaming-industry vendor — carried through every page, not just the homepage.
- Every content surface is client-editable — training courses, multi-speaker webinars, categorised insights and careers listings, with no developer in the loop.
- A formal, independent-style security and SEO audit passed all 15 sitemap pages with zero failures and zero warnings.
- A full production security header suite — CSP, HSTS, frame protection and a published security.txt — the kind of detail a security-minded client notices.
- Analytics that respects visitors — Google Analytics is consent-gated and hardened for CSP, not a tracking script bolted on after launch.
Impact
For SLEC Africa’s audience: a site that reads as trustworthy on first impression — regulators, operators and training participants engaging with a platform that looks and feels as credible as the advice it offers.
For the SLEC Africa team: full ownership of a genuinely broad content operation — courses, events, research and hiring — with none of it gated behind a developer.
Strategically: the platform is both a marketing asset and a working proof point — a documented, zero-finding security and SEO audit is itself evidence of the rigour SLEC Africa asks its own clients to meet.
Why it matters for Inventrium
This engagement shows we can take a positioning brief seriously enough to encode it into the platform itself, ship a genuinely broad CMS-driven content operation end to end, and hold the result to a documented, audited standard of security and SEO hygiene rather than a launch-day checklist that’s never revisited.
