At a glance
The National Association of Catholic Lawyers (NACL), Lagos Archdiocese brings together lawyers called to the Nigerian Bar who share the Catholic faith. Its calendar is built around the annual Legal Year Mass, its conference and its AGM, and its members pay annual dues according to their years at the Bar.
The association’s site ran on WordPress. In May 2026 Inventrium rebuilt it in Next.js with a Sanity content studio, carrying its content across and putting membership, dues and donations online.
An association runs on members joining, paying and staying informed. The website now does all three.
The challenge
- Joining had to be possible online, and applications had to reach the executive rather than disappear.
- Dues vary by years post-call, and members paying by bank transfer needed to be sure which category they were paying.
- The constitution, the officers’ duties and years of news and event photographs had to survive the move.
What we did
Cloned, then rebuilt
We captured the live WordPress site and rebuilt it page by page in the association’s deep green and gold, with every image self-hosted. Utility links for Join, Donate, Annual Dues and Constitution sit in a top bar on every page.
Membership and dues
Lawyers apply through an online form that states the eligibility rule from the constitution. Annual dues are shown in five categories, from 1–4 years post-call to SANs and Benchers, and each “Make Payment” button opens the bank-transfer details with the chosen category shown prominently.
Donations and governance
A donation page offers suggested amounts with a stated minimum. The constitution’s preamble is on the site with the full document as a PDF, and the Officers page sets out the duties of each office as expandable sections.
News, galleries and video
Past news posts and the Legal Year Mass 2021 and 2022 photo galleries were moved into Sanity, so the association can keep publishing without WordPress. Event videos have their own page.
Under the hood
- Faithful rebuild: the live WordPress site was cloned page by page, with the association’s green and gold brand and its own text kept.
- Membership online: the application form validates every field, filters out bots and limits repeat submissions before an application is sent.
- Dues people cannot get wrong: each dues card leads with its category, and the payment window repeats the category chosen, so a member paying ₦8,000 knows it is the 5–10 year rate.
- Governance in the open: an Officers page lists every office with its duties as set out in the constitution, beside links to the constitution and to membership.
- Records that last: past news and two years of Legal Year Mass photographs live in Sanity, with event videos on their own page.
The results
- The association’s WordPress site rebuilt as 14 pages, with its wording and photographs carried across and no image still loaded from the old server.
- An online membership application that checks each entry and sends it to the association’s own inbox.
- Annual dues set out in five categories by years post-call, from 1–4 years to SANs and Benchers, each leading to the right bank-transfer details.
- A donation page with suggested amounts and a stated minimum, and the full constitution available as a PDF download.
- News posts and the Legal Year Mass 2021 and 2022 photo galleries moved into a content system the association can keep adding to.
Impact
For members: join, pay dues or donate from any page, and know exactly which rate applies.
For the executive: membership applications come in online, and the constitution and officers’ duties are published for every member to read.
For the association’s history: its news, Legal Year Mass photographs and videos kept in one place.
Why it matters for Inventrium
Professional bodies, churches and associations need a website that handles membership and money as well as news. This engagement shows we can move one off WordPress without losing its record, and make joining and paying dues simple.
