LG and Ecobank Partner to Bring Smart Living to Every Nigerian Home

Tech meets finance as LG Electronics and Ecobank Nigeria team up to make AI-powered smart home technology accessible through flexible payment plans.

Smart Living, Now Within Reach

As Nigeria’s appetite for technology-driven lifestyles grows, two major players—LG Electronics Nigeria and Ecobank Nigeria—are joining forces to make smart living more affordable and accessible. Their new partnership aims to empower Nigerians to embrace AI-powered home innovations without the financial strain of lump-sum payments.

The collaboration was officially unveiled at the LG Smart TV AI Press Conference in Lagos, a vibrant event that underscored both brands’ shared vision of making technology a driver of comfort, connection, and inclusion.

A Partnership Rooted in Innovation and Inclusion

Speaking at the event, Paul Mba, Head of Corporate Marketing at LG Electronics West Africa, described the partnership as a bold step towards bridging the gap between innovation and affordability. He explained that LG’s new line of AI Smart TVs marks “the next generation of home entertainment,” blending machine learning with personalized experiences.

“Our AI-powered products are designed to learn, adapt, and evolve with users,” Mba said. “They create an environment where entertainment and convenience go hand in hand.”

For Ecobank Nigeria, the partnership reinforces its long-standing mission to promote financial inclusion. According to Dr. Adeola Ogunyemi, Head of Distribution Channels and Sales at the bank, this collaboration aligns perfectly with Ecobank’s goal of empowering individuals and households through technology-backed financing solutions.

“Technology should not be reserved for a privileged few,” Ogunyemi emphasized. “Through our Easy Monthly Instalment scheme, Nigerians can own AI-powered LG devices and experience smart living without financial pressure.”

AI-Powered Home Entertainment Takes Center Stage

During the event, Olugbenga Ogunbayo, Head Trainer at LG Electronics, unveiled LG’s latest AI TV lineup—including the OLED, QNED, NanoCell, and UHD models. He described them as “a perfect blend of intelligence and entertainment,” showcasing how LG continues to push the boundaries of AI innovation while ensuring user comfort and personalization.

The partnership goes beyond just selling TVs—it represents a broader push to help Nigerians adopt connected technologies that improve everyday life. As smart homes become more mainstream globally, LG and Ecobank’s initiative could accelerate Nigeria’s own digital transformation from the living room outward.

Industry Experts Weigh In

A lively panel discussion during the conference brought together tech innovators and creatives including Harrison Yakubu (Tech Expert), Olabisi Elvis Oshorun (Founder, SmartCribs Technologies), and Omotayo Otitoju (Filmmaker and Creative Technologist). They explored how artificial intelligence is reshaping everything from home entertainment to productivity and lifestyle management.

The consensus? AI integration is the cornerstone of the next phase of Nigeria’s digital evolution—one that combines innovation, accessibility, and local relevance.

Why This Partnership Matters

By combining LG’s smart technology with Ecobank’s financing options, this partnership makes advanced home solutions available to a much broader audience. It’s a powerful reminder that innovation is only as impactful as its accessibility.

With flexible payment models and a focus on inclusivity, this initiative could set the tone for how brands and financial institutions collaborate across Africa to drive digital adoption in everyday life.

As Choongbae Seok, General Manager, Media Entertainment Solutions, LG Electronics West Africa, reaffirmed: “LG remains committed to delivering cutting-edge technology that enhances how people live, work, and connect.”

The Future of Smart Living in Africa

This partnership signals a clear shift toward a more connected, tech-empowered Nigeria—one where smart living isn’t a luxury, but a lifestyle standard. With AI-powered products and innovative financing paving the way, the question now is: How fast will Nigerians embrace the smart home revolution?
